This handbook is based on a two-year course on economy of transition and derived from lectures and literature recommended to attendees. The course has been thematically divided into six segments enabling lecturers to explain basic concepts and fundamental principles of transition, demonstrate experiences of countries which have already endured transition, as well as to analyze the transition in Serbia.

A simple but comprehensive practicum that combines in one place precise and useful data, instructions and codes, and deals with numerous topics, from the basic ones - what are the media relations, what are the basic rules of the public relations and the basic legal and ethical standards of conduct - to planning and methods how to achieve the relations with the media.

According to the comments by the competent experts, `the most practical part of this publication … is the part containing instructions how to provide institutionally any serious organization not wishing to leave its relations with the media to the elements and chances`, and the book has already been characterized as well as `one of those that we need daily, as much in private lives of the people as much in business lives of the organizations`.

The book reflects an effort to map ownership patterns and their influence on media independence and pluralism in SEE and EU member countries from Central and Eastern Europe. The report covers 18 countries and is accompanied by a regional overview resulting from a project launched by the South-East European Network for the Professionalization of the Media.

`The Last Decade` is a unique documentary and artistic testimony of the Serbian citizens’ resistance to war, hatred and tragic rule of the 1991-2000 Slobodan Milosevic’s regime. It is not a history of political and state collapse – rivalry among political parties, nationalistic plans and programs, but a simple story about fates of thousands of people that persistently and bravely opposed such politics. In a way, the book is a reminder of people’s destinies and events that marked the last decade.

The book describing the two afternoon hours of October 5, when the fortress of Slobodan Milosevic and his regime, built for thirten years, was knocked down, is a result of talks with sixty people politicians, policemen, soldiers and citizen who, in their different roles, found themselves in Belgrade on that day to make it, some sven by doing nothing at all, one of the most memorable dates in the long and strmy history of Serbia.

"Political Guide through Serbia" speaks about past ten years of political struggle and political alliance, protests and elections – a book about political parties, coalitions, organizations and figures that marked an era, and a story about why everything ended up the way it did.
