I dislike common memoirs and factual biographies. There is a graffito that says: “Perhaps I'm bad in bed, but I'll do wonders in my memoir!”

Who is the author of the blog “By The Way..”.? Some would say – a journalist, while others would think of him as a radio host, a book publicist, "that guy, what was his name again...?", or simply – Davka's master (Davka is the craziest dog in the world)...

The author of the blog is Darko Daca Kocjan. Let's start from the beginning...

Before launching his blog, the renowned radio host – who is today the editor-in-chief of Radio 202 – had already had some experience with the dynamic world of blogging, expressed in an irresistibly direct manner...

Although the radio show Oblak u bermudama ("A Cloud In Bermuda Shorts") is not on the air in Belgrade anymore, I still regularly receive messages (greetings, questions, contributions) related to it. Launched as an alternative media space, the web diary was a place where many people used to write, communicate with each other, dream, ask questions, complain, exchange ideas...

Blogging and journalism are becoming increasingly intertwined, both in a theoretical and practical sense, due to the convergence of the electronic media and a dynamic development of information technologies. Journalists frequently write blogs, bloggers make news, citizen journalism has made its presence known in the blogosphere, while bloggers are often the first to report from the field...

However, let's go back to the beginning again...

I've often been asked when I would begin writing my own blog, and told that blogs are necessary in the digital 21st century for someone of my profession... I have always tried to avoid offering an answer, although aware that I probably should begin writing it. In the meantime, I wondered – are there any journalists in today's Serbia who are writing blogs, and what kind of quality is to be expected? How should a good and interesting blog authored by a journalist look like? Is it better to write about topics that we usually report on or something completely different?

In fact, it is actually very simple. A good journalist will write a good blog. Despite increased digitalization, globalization and virtualization, it is still necessary to create (and maintain) your name and reputation in the real world, because it will greatly affect your success in the virtual space. Very often, in the world of screen culture, people still expect confirmation in the press of the news encountered on the internet and in the electronic media.

The blog authored by Daca Kocjan is very much like the Daca we have loved to hear in "Oblak", "Ozon", or on the Radio Penguin, depending on which generation you belong to. Witty, smart, open-minded and creative. Roaming around the blog is recommended, says the authors. Links and stories are numerous. New articles are not lacking, but old and good ones abound.

Because this blog is, actually, about listening to silence, winking at the Moon, and a special outlook on life.
