The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia launched the call for proposals amounting to four million EUR, under its Support to Civil Society Project, inviting eligible civil society organisations to apply for actions meeting the criteria of the call for proposals, by March 10th 2011.
The Support to Civil Society Project is a new two-year-long project launched in October 2010 by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia. Its general objective is to support active civil society participation in Serbia’s EU integration. The specific objectives of this project are building social cohesion and overcoming discrimination in Serbian society by promoting tolerance and cultural diversity, as well as the active civil society participation in the socioeconomic development of the country.
The European Union allocated the overall amount of EUR 4 million, from IPA 2009 and IPA 2010, for grants to civil society organisations. The grants awarded selected projects will be between EUR 50,000 and EUR 150,000 while the duration of supported projects is between six (6) and twelve (12) months. The deadline for submitting applications expires on March 10th 2011, and the tender documentation is available on the Internet sites www.europa.rs and www.civilnodrustvo.rs
The call for proposals invites the organisations that belong to the wide spectrum of civil society, including non-governmental organisations or organisations at grassroots level, professional organisations, cultural, artistic clubs or associations, media associations, organisations representing social and economic players at large (e.g. associations of consumers, patients, students, business associations, etc.), labour-market actors (trade-unions and associations of employers), to propose projects in partnership with other civil society organisations from the Republic of Serbia, EU member states or countries of region, cultural and educational institutions or local self-governments.
The information sessions for the representatives of civil society organisations presenting the call for proposals in more details will be held in the second part of January 2011.
The deadline for submitting applications expires on March 10th 2011.
