Serbia is the second country in the world (after Russia) who has been approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to use a Cyrillic domain on the internet. It is expected that the Ministry of Trade of the USA will issue a final approval in May, at the request of the Serbian National Register of Internet Domain Names (RNIDS).

A transmitter for an experimental digital TV network will be installed on the Avala Tower. It will begin operating in this year, while its signal will be available to all citizens of Belgrade. The citizens will be able to use a DVBT2/MPEG-4 network in accordance with European standards.

According to the State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Jasna Matic, trial broadcasting of the digital signal will be possible in autumn. The equipment that is necessary to achieve transition from the analog to digital broadcasting of the TV signal will be installed during summer. She said that the process of digitalization should be completed by 4 April 2012.

On the occasion of marking the "Belgrade Day" and 1133th anniversary of Belgrade, the radio channel "Belgrade 202" will air a special programme "High-Level Radio", which will be the first radio programme broadcast live from the improvised studio at the Avala Tower between 11.33 and 14.00.

A new profile for TV B92

A new TV B92 has arrived exactly at midnight. Aside from the strengthened news and investigative programmes, the new B92 will also offer strong sports programme, cult series and film premieres. The Insider team starts a regular Insider Live programme that will be aired every Monday. The next level in the evolution of B92 is complemented by a completely new visual identity.

The news programme will remain the mainstay of TV B92's programme. The B92 journalists will continue publishing exclusive news and researching all significant topics. Investigative journalism, accuracy and promptness are still the priority features of the B92 news programme, as well as the precise, exclusive and double-checked information, live broadcasts from the field, spontaneity and wit. B92 journalists continue to investigate issues and ask questions that no one else dares to ask. The new programme schedule begins on 21 April, while a completely new news studio will have its premiere on 9 May.
